IGA role: Landscape Design & Supervision
Location: Ajman, UAE
This development project offers individual villas along the beach. Its concept revolves around providing a panoramic sea view to every single unit.
The topography of the land was therefore transformed such that it raises steeply from the main road then steps down gradually in terraces towards the sea like one huge wave.
The inner roads therefore run flat and parallel to the sea to provide access to the villas and the ones at both ends are sloped and connect them all together.
The streets are paved and the villas are staggered to animate the linear streets and allow to introduce a playful display of plantations and enhance the pedestrian character.

The plantation strategy is based on a multitude of layers, from trees to high and medium height hedges to ground covers and climbers along the retaining walls and fences.
Each of the 3 streets has its own set of flowering plants with a dominant color for identity purposes, yet all share the palm tree as a common species to preserve an overall unified environment.
